'Rubella' is a small, dense, upright, evergreen shrub with aromatic, often red rimmed, glossy, bright-green leaves. Deep-red flower buds in autumn and winter open to dense clusters of fragrant, small white flowers in spring. Plant in dappled shade/full shade in a moist well drained fertile soil. Hardiness: H5. Pruning group 8 if necessary. Eventual height of 1.5m and a spread of 1.5m in 10-20 years. RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit). Good for pollinators.
