This blue stem willow is native to the south west of America. Generally a hard to find variety, Salix Irrorata has a slightly less vivid blue stem colour than 'Blue Streak' but has a beautiful silverly blush of young stems

Once established, this Salix will produce a profusion of golden catkins in late winter/early spring. Unlike many other willows, Irrorata prefers a more well drained soil, though will also grow well in damp locations.
