H. latifolia is a vigorous, tender, twining, evergreen climber with ovate, dark green leaves. In spring, it bears small clusters of very strongly fragrant, white, sometimes purple tinted, bell-shaped flowers. Flowering may be followed by large, purple, sausage-shaped fruit.
Can be planted in full or partial sun, in moist well drained soil, Hardy (H3) Tender in frost.
