Cytisus battandieri is more commonly known as the 'Pineapple Broom Tree' due to the intoxicating fragrance that the large vivid yellow flowers emit. The delicious scent reminds you of cooked pineapple and the flowers stand upright from June to July.
Originally from Morocco, this variety will grow well in most soils and adds some Mediterranean flair to the garden.
The foliage is semi-evergreen and is a beautifully silvery green-grey. Due to the velvety nature of the leaves and the striking scent, battandieri is ideal near walkways, as a specimen lawn tree or as part of a sensory garden.
RHS Award of Garden Merit holding variety.
