'Dark Eyes' is a deciduous, perennial climber with pinnate, dark green leaves and, from mid summer to early autumn, small, dark reddish-purple flowers, more red at the base of the petals and central purple stamens tipped with white. Plant in full sun/partial shade in a moist well drained fertile soil.

Hardiness: H4. Clematis pruning group 3 - Cut back last year's stems to a pair of strong buds 20 cm above soil level before new growth begins in early spring. Eventual height of 2.5m and a spread of 1.5m in 2-5 years.
